About
Play@Churwell is located within the Churwell Primary School site in the Japa Mill building overlooking the school's playing field. During the summer of 2007 it was adapted to meet the needs of our club.

History
PLAY@Churwell opened for the first time in Easter 2002 within rented accomodation at Churwell Methodist Church. The building had lots of indoor space and the children enjoyed their time there. The only drawback was a lack of outdoor play space.

In summer 2003 we had the opportunity to move to Asquith Primary School where we had the sole use of two classrooms and the school's outdoor play areas. Our long term aim was always to move the PLAY@Churwell club back to Churwell Primary School once space was available on the school site.

In October 2005 we opened a new 16 place before and after school club at Churwell Primary School. In September 2007 we moved into newly refurbished accomodation on the Churwell site that enabled us to expand our number of places to 32.

In September 2008 we expanded our places to 60 and implemented the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for the youngest children. We have three rooms that enable us to provide separate space for Early Years, 5-7 and 8-11 year olds. In our Ladybird Room we offer wraparound care for children attending Churwell Nursery.
